SKB cases vs Ibanez cases

hi!

I am in need of a decent case for my RG520QS to replace my cheapo one.

I am starting to gigs and I take my guitar heaps of places so I need a good strong case.

My bass player recommended SKB cases and I am leanin towards the SKB-66 case. I have also looked at the Ibanez M100 case which seems about the same as the SKB.

any thoughts or opinions?

I've heard good things about both, but I'm sure many of the purists on here will tell ya the Ibanez UV1000C is the best out there. And they are definitely very very nice. It's all personal choice though as far as I can tell between the two. I'm sure someone with more experience with both can help ya a bit more.

I saw these really cool cases once that were all metal on the outside and had a closure and lid mechanism from the trunk of a car.

They were nice though, you could jump on them without damaging the guitar. The sales guy did, it was cool.

The owner of the guitar seemed a little skeptical though at first.

I think the Ibanez M100 will be a better fit for your RG.

The SKB cases are fine for me, but the one M100 case I have is more snug.

Once cool thing about the SKB case... if you get the SKB electric case, you can nest it inside the SKB keyboard case and use it as a flight case.

I tend to prefer the SKB cases over the Ibanezes a little, mostly because I've got about a dozen cases around here, and the SKB's smaller size makes 'em a lot easier to stash!
