Just thought i would share this. Its a video i made showing some cool tones boosting the front end of the HT-5 with the Xotic BB-Preamp. With an Ibanez.......of course

Thats ok. I just noticed that there are not many vids with the amp being boosted up at the front end so thought it would give a better idea what its like in practical use

Nice demo, and you are a great player.
I used to have a HT-5 and I boosted it as well. I sold the amp since I really don't like small amps and have since stopped boosting gain channels.
I've found that volume brings out the harmonic content you were referring to, so I just play my amps loud and let the gain breathe.

Cool Vid. There is defo a good relationship between the ht-5 and drive pedals. I also play my big amps with a boost though cause its always an improvement even on the mesa's when i'm gigging. I have found some amps, particularly laneys, to sound worst when they get past half way than they do at quarter way.

Not bad at all. I've found TS type overdrives work really well with the HT-5, although I've not found a need to use one with my band. I just run the gain at noon and it's plenty chunky and heavy enough.
