Speaker or instrument cable?

Is it ok to use an instrument cable to connect the head to the cabinet for a short time? My speaker cable is going to arrive a few days after the amp, and I wanted to test it out to make sure it worked. Should I just wait for the speaker cable?

It's not wise to use instrument cable. Keep your amp safe and use the real deal.

No, wait for the speaker cable, they're designed to carry a different voltage to regular instrumental cables.

Ok. I'll definitely wait for the cable. Also I've seen people's Legacies without the board on the front of the head. The used one I got didn't come with the nameplate, and I thought it would just look better if it didn't have the board either. Is it easy to remove? Or is there a certain procedure to follow?
