speakers..
im about to change the speakers in my valveking 212 as i find them to lack warmth and roundness and incredibly brittle sounding, ive decided on celestions
these are the choices i narrowed it down to...
1,G12t-75- yngwie uses this one and its the best selling speaker, 75 watts
2,classic lead-speed, punchy and lively dynamics, 50 watts
3,vintage 30, 30 watts
4, G12M-25 (Greenbacks)- used by vai, incredibly popular, 25 watts
any suggestions for appropirate wattage and everything and sound, im looking for a smooth round tone...vai mixed with petrucci with some
van halen
punch and lively dynamics...big ask i know

Re: speakers..
The speaker is what the mic hears, the cab with the speaker is what you hear in the room. all cabs sound different, even with he same speakers. it like guitars. 5 of the same guitar can all sound different. best to take your head in the the
music store
and demo cabs.

Re: speakers..
there are rather the limited stores where i live if im honest, just a few but im just looking to buy these speakers. i shant be using a mic so that means nothing, the cab is just a small combo amplifier, im sure different speakers would make a difference

They make ALL the difference
There is a Mesa 2x12 cab in my local store with V30's that I've been considering. I would probably be better off adding a pair of them to one of my current cabs than buying a new cab though. They are offering the cab up for $440 when they normally go for $559 which is what got my attention.
Good luck on your quest.
cheers,
Bones

Re: speakers..
The V30 is 60 watts.
The G12T-75 is one of my favorite speakers for hard rock / metal. It comes standard in the 1960A and 1960B
Marshall cabs
.

Re: speakers..
+1 for V30's.
When I get around to buying a new 412 it will definitely have V30's - a smoother tone than the 75's.

Re: speakers..
oh cool, im looking for a smoother more lucious sound, the valveking speakers are horrid, very twangy and brittle, so V30's then?

Re: speakers..
Tried my new valve head with a G12T-75 loaded 2x12 vs a V30 loaded 2x12...V30 all the way, more "open" sounding, more in your face, more definition and balls, G12T-75 sounded a little fizzy for my taste.
