STOMPBOXES ??
I need some help in the effects department. I have a
marshall AVT
50 and korg AX100G. I have been playing for about 8 months and have ibanez JS 900. The music i listen to is likes of joe satriani, steve vai, jimi hendrix, and also like bands like metallica and some pantera. Basically into Blues/Rock/Metal. And i don't think the pedal i have got now is giving me the right sound i want. I have put some money together £200 to 250 or what ever it takes to get a new effects pedal. But thing is i don't know weather i should get a
multi effects pedal
again or get some individual pedals and just start collecting them. What is the difference between the multi effects and the stompboxes, sound, tone etc???I really want to make the right decision and get the best sound of the material i am playing or in my case trying to. So what do u think, get a multi effects pedal??or start getting individual pedals??And which ones would be good to get. I was thinking about the korg ax1500 for a multi effects, or is there a better multi effects pedal out there and for that price. And i don't have a clue about the individual pedals. Wah???, Distortion???,Flanger???Chorus??? Loads of them. Which ones would be the the best for the sound and price wise. There are so many company's out there you just don't know where to start. HELP!!!!!!!!!

I seem to battle this same problem everyday
I have been using multi-effect processors for the last 5 years and I got spoiled. The playing was easy and my tone suffered. I recently found
a processor that really kicked booty-Digitech ValveFX-it's got a fat sound and plenty of tone. I do have some floore pedals I play thru also.
The DS-1(of course) and OD3
Boss pedals
.
I move around a lot so I like to keep a processor, it's EZ for travel.
If you've got the money, get some pedals.
Dist > Delay > Chorus
is really all you need.

For modulation effects (chorus, flange, etc) or reverb effects (delay, reverb, etc), basically any of the name brands, like Boss for example is very good. For distortions, it's all a matter of opinion, Boss, again, is very very good, so is the
Ibanez Tube Screamer
, I've heard good things from all these companies you listed, so it's all personal opinion, try them out. Same goes for wah, they're all good: Morley, Vox, Dunlop, Boss, etc. But they all sound very different, so it depends on what you want.

fulltone is the shizznittle bam sandwich
i used to be a stompbox freak, but only for backups to my rack rig. since going to line6, the only pedals i have kept are my morley bad horsie and PVO volume(vai took too long on coming out with the little alligator) and a boss ac-2 acoustic simulator. i have been thoroughly impressed by morley and boss. both can do no wrong for me...with exception of some weird 70's and 80's stuff. but have come find out a more boutique manufacturer called fulltone. those pedald are kinda pricy($200USD per pedal is the average), but are the epitome of stompbox heaven. the fulldrive 2 is an ultra sweet TS808/TS9 OD, while the distortion pro is ultimate in amp style distortion in a pedal. their clyde is a throwback to the beautiful early vox/thomas organ/clyde mc coy wahs of yesteryear, but with modern enhancements and a greater seep in the tonal spectrum. it gets my vote for best switched wah(i love the bad horsie...best wah ever...no annoying switch and tone for days!).

A Geoffrey Teese Real McCoy wah (list $175) and a ring modulator will do the trick. And a little delay/looping, like Line6 DL4.
