String Dampener

Hello!

I found few string dampe(ne)rs on the market recently and was wondering if you can share some experience using them. I am specifically interested in their ability to silence string noise during sweeps.

Is it worth spending $40-$90 for one? Or I better go with the proven rubber band/sock method?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
