Switching from sold state, blackstar combos

Hello Guyz!!

The time has come to grow out of solid state amp of mine!!!

After a long search I came to two versions

I NEED SOMETHING PORTABLE

Blackstar HT 5C (combo) +buying cabinet for gigs.
or
BlackstarHT 5R (combo) + buying cabiunet for gigs

Is there any difference between the two?

I thought of buying a full stack, but i really need a practise amp that can go out on cabs and have a descent sound and in my opinion these two above pretty much cover those fields.

Any suggestions?

Currently I'm studding abroad and gigging at night so headphones ON for the neighbors that's why i need a small yet powerful enough tube amp

Re: Switching from sold state, blackstar combos

There is a difference if you have a look at the specs!

The "R" has reverb, the "C" doesn't.

I gig with the older HT-5 Head with a 1x12" cabinet loaded with a Vintage 30. I have no need for a clean channel so it works brilliantly. I just roll the volume knob back on my guitar to clean up my tone.

If you want a proper clean channel you might not quite get there at gig levels. Swap the 12AX7 preamp valve with a Tung Sol 12AX7 and you'll get cleaner cleans at high volumes, with more dynamic complex tones, and plenty of gain. If you don't need huge amounts of gain you can swap out the 12AX7 out for a 12AU7 to get cleaner headroom and less distortion.

You can also use a compressor to clean up the tone as well.

I see, that's where the R is coming from Also a used ht-5 was my PROPER head option win + cab vintage 30. For just 160 Euro more I can get it.
However, due to my constant movement I cannot carry both all the time.

Does HT-5R have speaker output like HT5-C? If it does Ill close the deal
If not I'll get HT5-C and a cabinet

They are the same, bar the reverb. Same speaker outputs, etc.

Re: Switching from sold state, blackstar combos

AFAIK, all Blackstars from the HT-1 through to the HT-100 have the same outputs. That means at least one speaker out, and the emulated output.
