TC Electronic 1140 Parametic EQ - is it worth 150$?

Hi...i´m thinking of buying a 1140 and i was wondering if u think it´s worth 150$ (i saw it on harmony-central for 200$) but is it that good or can a BBE 462 do the same for my sound?

Thanx in advance

TC electronics make some very good gear and you can find the manual for the 1140 here

http://www.tcelectronic.com/files/1140-2240.pdf

I have used the BBE 462 for years and it is a very good unit and is ideally suited for use with an ADA MP-1.

I would recommend the BBE but the TC is a different type of unit. *The BBE has two controls per channel, TC has a lot more.

I think either unit would do a good job.

all the best

Re: TC Electronic 1140 Parametic EQ - is it worth 150$?

To me, the answer is yes. The low noise, low phasing, tight parametric bandwith make it easy to suppress PA system squeal, increase loudness, increase brightness and vocal
intelligibilty in music, broadcast radio, public address systems. Also realize that different
makes of eq may not offer equal results (I E; if you dial 315 Hz at, .3 que bandwith and
Plus 10 db on something else you might get a different result.) On this unit you get a harder sound, on Neve eq, BAE eq and some tube eq, the results will be warmer maybe.
