tc electronic foot controller

what is the best floor controller to use with the g major?

Is there one that can change patches, and can then turn different effects on or off within that patch?

is it also able to display the patch name as it is displayed on the g major?

thanks!

Not sure what the best controller there is but TC Electronic have the G Minor available. I think you can buy several of these and link them together aswell.

Rocktron all access will do that, though you have to programme the names into the controller, they are not automatically copied across.

The All Access is nice, but it's around $500, isn't it? I've been looking into getting the Rocktron Midi Mate. http://www.rocktron.com/frameset1.html (search the site under products, then controllers and click midi mate) or http://www.stevesmusiccenter.com/RocktronMidiMate.html
It has several settings. One allows you to switch between 4 different patches and use the other 5 switches for control changes(switching effects on/off, tap tempo, etc.)

You may or may not have read my previous post about my current
setup. but I use the Midi Mate with my G Major and it works awesome.
Built very well, easy easy to use, and at a street price of 150$$,
you cannot go wrong. It will also accept phantom power if you have the
tools to provide it.

The Behringer is really good, but limited in how much control it has for the G-Major. You can't really turn individual effects on and off within a patch.

Interesting. I'll definitely take a look into that. I just don't have the cash to shell out $200+ for a foot controller, lol.

You can turn effects on and off with the FCB1010, however you will need to upgrade i first with a new EPROM for it to work properly. The uno chip cost like $10 and you can fit it ourself, with this chip installed stomp box mode will works correctly with one row of pedals toggling on and off effects and the other row selecting patches. With the upgrade the led's can be programmed to show what effects are on and off. For the price you cant beat it but to get the best out of it you really need to upgrade it. This unit is not plug and play at all but there are a couple of editor programs and sysex to be found in the yaho groups, which wil make setting it up a lot easier. Check out this yahoo group for more info on upgrading it.

and this one for more information about the fcb1010

I use mine with my g major and a jmp1, I have it set up like this:

Pitch, delay, chorus, modulation and boost are toggled with the top row. The bottom row selects patches as well as tap tempo, and finally one expression pedal controls volume while the other varies depending on the patch.

Re: tc electronic foot controller

I use the FCB1010 religiously with my G-Major and it works excellently!
You can configure the FCB1010 to do on/off of individual effects, normal patch changes or a combination of both.
It's wonderful.

The FCB1010 with the G-Force is a different story though.
I use both the G-Force and the G-Major and the G-Force only really responds well to the first 10 patches with the FCB1010.
For the G-Major though, I don't know of a better piece to use.
