Hi everyone

thanks for reading.

So, i've got this home-made tube-amp and i was wondering if I can add an effects loop by simply taking the wire coming out of the preamp (before the phase inverter) and put two jacks in between (the orther going straight into the phase inverter)

will that work?
or will i just destroy what's left of my amp :P?

Holy crap I have no idea, but offhand I would say that wouldn't work too great, because it wouldn't act as a "true" effects loops; hence you're only going to be adding the "effect" to that whatever particular channel you are playing through.

Not sure, but I seem to recall that most effects loops need some form of transformer buffering. Was tempted to do this with my JCM 800 2x12 - our local tech said it's not too difficult, but to get him to do the work was going to cost around $300AUD, so there's obviously a bit of work and componentry involved. Good luck with it though - I'm sure Google would be your friend here with a bit of digging!
