Re: Tell us about you guitar setup/rig Everyone!!!

I'm pretty excited...those f'ers over at G.C finally got my new pre amp in, so I have my current dream rig:

Here are both my main set ups..depending on size of venue, how far we're traveling...what I feel like luggin' =0)

larger set up:

Godin LGX, piezo + synth guitar(current main guitar)
Mutt 540s (floyd removed emgs added)
frankenstein les paul (warmoth body with 550 neck)
frankenstein double neck (tele and rg 7) (rarely used--its too heavy!!)
older malmsteen strat (stock)
older Jem 77fp (rarely ever gigged)
into original whammy-->bad horsie-->into shock mount rack
furman power conditioner
korg tuner
DMC audio switcher (with Q-tron plus and microsynth in loops)
Mesa recto pre (my new baby!!)
alesis midiverb 4
VHT 2150 power amp (oh my gawd the power this things has!!!)
road ready MESA 4x12 (run in stereo)

smaller set up
same guitars
into whammy and wah
mesa triple rect (original 2 channel-I had mesa mod it for a boost before the
3 channel were available-but I never use the boost anymore)
new mesa 2x12 closed back recto-just got it and the pre today....

I also have a roland GR-33, which I hardly ever use, a talk box, tons of misc. pedals, and two classicals, one piece of crap takamine, and one Rameriz...not a great Rameriz, but a good student one...
Man, not to get off the subject..but when I did my masters recital the guitar I used was sooooooooooo sweet...too bad it was "mid" priced at 4500.00 =0)
Clips of the gear w/o the 2x12 or recto pre are available at www.thefreemartins.com ...all tracks have a JCM 900 in the mix as well...

take care all and later! Tobe

Yes the LGX rocks!!! I love it...it pretty much took me away from Ibanezes, I never thought I would like a LP style guitar so much. As for pixs....I think there are some pics on the web site... www.thefreemartins.com, but I'll borrow the singer's digital camera on tuesday and put some pics up then....bare in mind that they are workhorses, and I didn't really worry about if they looked nice or not! lol!! later, Tobe

I also shaved the neck to the wood and put a tung oil finish on it as well as the rest of the body,(a 20 hour hand sanding job!) If I wanted to go for a no bs type rig then probably Zakk Wyldes. And for a more complex rig Id say Vai's or John Petrucci's.

Heh I meant on these boards...

but I'd take Vai's - he has like 300 Jems!

Re: Tell us about you guitar setup/rig Everyone!!!

I would probably trade rigs with Kirk Hammet. He has some awesome guitars and some nice amps too. As said previously, Zakk Wyldes rig and Petrucci's rig would be sweet too. Petrucci's is a bit "fussy" for me though.

Re: Tell us about you guitar setup/rig Everyone!!!

Yea but Id bet JPs got mega $$$$$ of amps and effects in storage! And Zakks got more Les Pauls than Les Paul does! And Vai probably does have 300 or more Jems.

Don't laugh - but right now I'd like to trade with Jimmy Page, as long as I get his '58 Les Paul, Danelectro, Marshall, Supro, etc...

Id like Mattias Eklundh's rig. Also wouldn't mind petrucci's six degrees rig, although its a little bit of overkill.
