The tones in the fingers? - What do you mean by that?

I read in a couple of postings about Steve and his Tone. *You say that most of it is in his fingers. *How exactly do you get tone in your fingers? *Got any suggestions? *Because I would like to alter the tone in MY fingers, I just wanted to know how about going that. *Sorry if this posting is on the wrong place, I couldn't really calssify it myself so I put it here. *Thanks

Well, since no one has ever succeeded at copying his tone (even using the same gear!), it's gotta be in the fingers!!
