the volume pedal

funny stuff Jeff. I haven't even tried 9v batteries with the Morley PVO yet. For simplicity I use AC and that has not created any problems yet... glen

the volume pedal

Well, I'm getting one for the sole reason that I prefer the feel of the Morley pedal over the EB pedal. I've played with both a good bit and just like it more.

If it does cut the gain though, I probably will bring it back. Tone is more important to me then a cute volume pedal.

Since their isn't a lot of demand from the battery for power... they should last fairly long. *However, you'll experience a loss in performance of the pedal. *Maybe a loss in signal. *Not something you want on stage. *If you have to get an active one (I know that Steve Vai name makes it worth the extra money for me... NOT)... get an A/C adapter...

The Little Aligator is $10 list more than the Morley PVO. That said a quick yahoo search found a PVO for $49.95 right here.

You can see the owner's manual and spec sheet for the new Vai pedal at morley's site here:

the volume pedal

From what I've skimmed it seems that a few don't understand why this pedal needs to be powered. *It uses a light emitting diode and a light receiving diode. *Both of these components need power. *It's a great circuit. *Take apart the POV or Bad Horsie and you'll see how it works. *Pretty cool.

Also, Jay, the batteries won't cause any hum. *Good clean power. *You get hum with the AC adapters. *The AC isn't filtered well. Do a back to back test with the Morley power supply and *a Radio Shack PS. *The RS will sound pretty bad.
Jay, most performers that use batteries replace them quite a bit.

Eep.

Well, due to lack of research on my part (laziness really), I didn't realize that it and the PVO are almost identical aside from color.

What gives? Why $20 more for one because it's green?

Hrmm. I think I'll just get the PVO instead.

Re: the volume pedal

I guess I missed the joke. Is the new thing to just bump old threads without contributing anything? If so, great job guys.

Yeah, epic fail dude.

I thought that it was someone spamming all these 10 yr old threads for some nefarious reason the past week or so.

Re: the volume pedal

well, this is the first week that the threads will actually be over 10 years! so people are (un)appropriately posting right after the 10 years passes. I have to admit, I was the first 10 year necro post. and others are following. however, mine was a statement against the useless spammers by of course making an exaggerated bump.
