Hey guys. I'm in the market for a low wattage amp (preferably tube) for practicing in my apartment and for recording. The
Blackstar ht-5 seems to fit the bill... 5 watts, celestion speaker, effects loop, switchable between american and british style tones, high gain on the lead channel, and a headphone/directout jack with speaker emulations of a 1x12 and a 4x12 cab for silent practice or recording....I think I could get every tone I need from it quite easily. I realize the signal path for the ht-5 is not 100% tube but the reviews I have read on harmonycentral.com have been great. I have already tried the blackheart little giant and I liked it but not enough gain for my taste as I play mostly hard rock and metal.
Anyone have any experience with one of these? Please don't suggest louder amps or something that costs over $400.00 because I already own the Peaavey Valveking vk112 50 watt 1x12 combo. I love it but it's too loud for my apartment.
