I've pretty much been a straight-into-the-amp kind of player (only effect I own is a Wah) but I was playing in a cover band and realized I needed some effects and a stage tuner. I picked up a Korg AX1500G last Nov. for $135. It's decent but last week I tried some of the effects manually and found that some just don't cut it. For example, I tried the "orange phaser" but could not get the early VH sound. I picked up a MXR 90 the next day, set it to the slowest speed, plugged it in, played the You Really Got Me solo, and BOOM had "the sound" I was looking for. Anyway, to make a long story short (too late), I'm going with pedals now. Here's what I bought or have coming in and wanted to know where I should put what in the chain (from research online, this is the order I was thinking once I have all the pedals): wah,
DigiTech Whammy, MXR Phase90, Boss BF-2 Flanger, Boss CH-1 Chorus. I have a Mesa Single Recto head and use the amp's distortion. Second thing, should I run the chain "in front" of the amp or use the effects loop? Lastly, can I use the pedals and the Korg? I do like the reverbs, delays, and a couple presets from it (plus the tuner). Thanks!
