Um, i've never heard of anywhere where you can try tubes before you buy them...

Do a search for "tubes" or "electro-harmonix" or something and see what you come across.

lol, the hot tubes is a distortion pedal with tubes in it. The electro harmonix site has some samples, I think.

well i mean, i read that the e.h. hot tubes was more of an overdrive but they call it a distortion pedal, and that through tube amps they can be muddy and over saturate everything.

gkelm here on the forum has a tone bone, not sure if it's the hot british or the classic. I have heard only great things about them, but have never heard one in person. gkelm has mentioned to me that he loves it.

Another great sounding pedal is the SOV-1. It's got a great bluesy tone. Go to www.musictoyz.com and check it out, there's a really great sound clip of it in a band context. Price is about the same as the tone bone, which means it's pretty steep. I am seriously thinking of splurging on one.

Good luck
