Tone- Multi FX vs Compact pedals!

Hi all, just wondering what will have less tone suckage when ENGAGED (true bypass loopers can be used to de-activate the pedal[s]):

-Multi effects pedals (Boss ME-50, for example)

-Compact pedals (e.g. Digitech Hardwire series, Line6 Tonecore)


In my head it seems to make sense that (when going for a compact pedal setup) the more compact pedals you use, the more tone suckage you will have. If this is true, how many compact pedals (about) would it take for the total tone suckage to equal or be worse than a multi effects processor? Hope that made sense lol, thanks for your help.

Hypothetically, if you were using 10 pedals and they were all turned on, would you REALLY be able to notice if there was any "tone suckage" going on?

I dont think you will find a real answer, its all about experimenting and finding what best works for your ears..

I have the exact same issues, and in the end I can have millions of answers from guitarists, but in the end if my ears are not pleased then whats the point...
