Re: Toneport at Gearbox
I have a toneport ux2, and I use it with gear I already had (Alesis Matica 500 amp and Monitor One monitors). If I didn't have this existing gear, I most certainly would've bought some powered computer speakers and went to radio shack to get an 1/8" female stereo to (2) two 1/4" mono male adapter. I would've run from the analog outs to the speakers' 1/8" stereo male. I assume this would work just fine. For that matter, you could get a 1/4" stereo male to 1/8" stereo female and go straight out of the headphone jack of the toneport and into the speakers. Seems to me there are better alternatives than using a guitar amp.
Oh, yes, and if you set the audio properties of your machine to use the Toneport as your default sound device instead of your onboard stuff, then of course you can hear your CDs, DVDs, neat little Windows sounds, youtube videos, whatever.
