triaxis

Got a triaxis with a 20/20 and am having fun playing around with it :-) Anyone have some settings they want to share? I actually found a site that had about 20 John Petrucci settings a couple of days ago (before I bought it), but can no longer get to it. oops.

thanks, roland

cool, thanks. I realize everyone has their own tastes, but it would be nice to hear other people's settings as I might find something I really like :-)

thanks!

My clean channel- rythm 2 yellow- reading settings from left to right starting with gain- 3,3,7.5,9,0,0,8,1,2

My crunch channel Lead 2 yellow- (ala metallicas justice tone)- 7.5,10,0,5,0,9,8,10,8

My lead tone- (lead 2 green)- 7.5,7.5,8,5.5,0,7.5,9,10,3.5

All those tones are shaped further by a parametric eq in my effects loop , so they dont really sound like mine.

These are setting from Petrucci´s Triaxis as shown on his website:
Ld 2 yellow: 8.0 4.5 6.5 4.5 0.0 7.5 5.5 3.0 3.0
Ld 2 yellow: 6.5 4.0 3.5 4.0 0.0 5.0 4.5 2.0 3.5

These are the settings shown in Guitar World back in 1994
Rhy 1yellow: 6.0 6.5 3.5 3.0 0.0 0.0 5.5 8.0 7.0
Ld 1 Red: * * *6.0 6.0 5,0 4.5 4.5 0.0 4.0 6.5 *?
Ld 2 yellow: *7.5 4.5 4.0 5.5 0.0 6.5 6.0 0.0 3.0

Hope this helps. Check out the gear on his wedsite it shows the settings for all his amps ( Mark ii c+, Mark IV, Formula and Recto). Perhaps they can be used on the Triaxis too.

Hey guys I have this list of presets from users of the triaxis but I can't upload it to the ftp at this site.
It says:

Error: Can't copy Artist Presets.PDF as it is not a valid image.
Filesize: 38.17 KB
Filetype: application/pdf

The file is smaller than most pictures but it still won't go through. If you want the file give me your email address. It has Metallica, Petrucci, Living Colour, Soundgarden, 311 etc...

The Petrucci ones are pretty weak. I think he's running other amps with his settings but its cool none the less.

Add me in too. *I'll post some of my settings as well when I get around to it.
Anybody use the Mesa TriAxis Patch editor software off their FTP site? *It makes things even EASIER then it already is. *Simple point and click stuff.

Where on JohnPetrucci.com do you see the settings? *I've been there a lot and cant find them.

Oh, I see. *Been there. *It's only like 2 sounds, because most of the photos show the same preset (30).

tomizm I downloaded the patch but don't have a MIDI thingy to connect it to the Triaxis (excuse the lack of technical terms). Also what are you using for the continuous control pedal? You need some kind of voltage line box to send the expression pedal in. Mesa suggests the "Anatek Pocket Pedal" but that's been discontinued a couple of years ago. I did find the Midi Solutions website had a box but its close to $150.

That contimuous control software gave me a headache. I have been trying to figure out how to get my GT-5 expression pedal to send the required midi and all that so I can control everything from one pedal. I have given up because it makes my head hurt...

You can always phone up mesa and ask em what they'd recommend now...
