TS 9 to 808 mod kit - Do they worth?

Anyone tried?
Does it really sound better after mod?
Can they use on a TS9DX?

Where can I buy them except from Ebay?

TS 9 to 808 mod kit

I believe the all it requires is two resistor changes and the op-amp change if you have a ts9 reissue. *However, you have to make sure that the op-amp you switch in is exactly a JRC4558 (Japanese Radio Company, which has since changed its name). *Some people try to give you a similar Mouser 4558 op-amp chip that comes from Japan, but it is NOT exactly the same as the ones used in the original TS's. *

Most of the current TS line of pedals can be modified to have the exact circuitry of the 808, but only the TS9 reissue has the really simple fix. *If you aren't good with electronics, I wouldn't recommend doing yourself.

TS 9 to 808 mod kit

My friend sent his off for the mod, *I left my TS-9 re-issue original. *We AB'd them after it came back. *The Mod was brighter and had slightly more gain.

In short, *it was not a big enough difference for me to want it.

TS 9 to 808 mod kit

Just get a Maxon 808 or a VoodooLab Sparkle Drive. They do it good and you save the soldering and maybe even screwing up the TS-9.

TS 9 to 808 mod kit

I've done a few of them myself...bought kits on ebay and then found the parts on my own (very cheap). *I'm an electronics dummy and I was able to get the job done well with good directions. *The difference was less than I had expected, but worth doing if it doesn't cost you more than $20...I think it smooths out the tone *bit. *You can also swap another reisitor to add a bass boost, which really fattens the tone as well.

Ooops, just read the rest of your post. *You can do the same mod to the ts9dx. *I have the parts and instructions...I suppose I could sell you a "kit" for $10 if you were interested.
