Tubed head recommendations?

I am looking for a tubed head for a low price, from $300 - $600. Looking for something with 100+ watts and good for high gain. I was looking at these:

Bugera 1960 Classic
Carvin X100B
Vox AC100CPH Classic Plus
Peavey ValveKing

Any experience with these heads or brands? Any other heads you would recommend?

Do you really need 100watts? 10watts really is overkill for most applications.

Have you already owned valve amps? i agree that 100 is a lot.

I use a Laney GH50L(50watt) for gigs and only have the volume at 3-4.
