Re: Ultex Jazz III review

I loved them for soloing but I hated them for rhythm playing!!! Had they been a bit bigger they would be my perfect pick!!!

I'd love to find someplace that sells them in bulk cheaper than 50 cents per piece. I'd stock up like nobody's business!

I was rearranging and cleaning the practice space and found 15 of them hiding on the tan carpet.Think I might take a bright colored sharpie to them so they are a little more visible.
great idea! think they're bad on tan carpet? they just simply disappear when the fall to the floor; concrete, wood and all! Yet somehow they reappear when you're not looking for 'em. Darn pick gnomes must really love the ultex material...

Took me some getting used to but now I'm fine with rhythm or lead.

olie i'd have to agree, if they were the size of a regular pick they would be the perfect pick

They do make ultex picks in regular sizes. I have been using Jazz III for so long, a regular pick feels huge, and I can't use it.

Re: Ultex Jazz III review

I tried them but I prefer the size of the Black XL's I never really noticed much difference in tone but compared to a normal black Jazz III it did feel 'nicer'

Once they start making the Ultex one in XL size I'll switch.

Now to start the petition for Dunlop to start making them

Re: Ultex Jazz III review

If only Ibanez would make Paul Gilbert picks in ultex those things WEAR majorly! but oww man, I haven't played anything like it.. I've been a Jazz III player before, but I found it hard to do rhythm, like it was too small or something. I didn't play as tight with a Jazz III compared to a larger pick, by some reason.

That's the thing, the Jazz III forces you to you play more precisely, and makes you work on better picking technique.

do you use nylon or the lexan? I ate through the lexan like crazy (as i do with every other guitar pick). the lexan is the normal one you can buy in stores. i ordered the nylon off the internet and that thing can take a WICKED beating.
