Univalve - Share da' Love - Try it, you might dig it.

I had some Xmas present cash burning a hole in my pocket and after hearing several great things about the THD Univalve amp I decided to see if I could get one at a good price.

Lucky for me, local store 3mi away has one for $759 which is about as low as I have heard of, so I go and grab it.

EL34 + 2 12AX7 that it shipped with sound FRICKEN AWESOME. *If you have any money in your pockets and don't require pure buzz-saw metal tone, try one of these puppies out. *The built in hot plate is really fantastic. *I turned the volume to 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 and listened to the distortion getting better and better, then as my ears were starting to feel it, cranked the attenuator up a bit and it still sounded BUTTERY. *This thing is great. * Putting in the power tube takes about 1 1/2 minutes (including taking off the cover). *I'm looking forward to trying different preamp/power combos. *If you want good tube tone, this thing brings it. *The preamp tube covers are screwed on, so changing these takes longer, but who gives a crap when you can swap those out, then try all of your power tubes to see which work best with them... *Guaranteed instantly good rock solo sound just by plugging in.

Igascoig, the THD univalve is a very popular amp at the Harmony Central amp forum.(along with almost every other boutique amp in the business!).

Also, the guy who makes the (THD) amps frequently posts there.

Why don't you check it out, you'll find more people whom you can interact with about the amp.

Heres a direct link to one such recent thread-

I have set up an "unofficial" centralised resource on http://www.univalve.net - currently this is just as a forum, although this will change soon. It's only been around for a day or so, but visitors are starting to take notice, and Andy and Ed from THD Electronics have made regular appearances.

Univalve - Share da' Love

I saw one in a pawnshop. Looked like new and was cheap. I didn’t know much about it, so I didn’t hover for long, but maybe I should go back and check it out.

Some times it’s a shame about the things people pawn when they get hard up.
