Upcoming gt-10??

Are they coming out at any time? Im considering getting a gt-8 but i seriously will kill myself if i see a new gt-10 or something is coming out after i bought a gt-8. Anyway anyone tried yamaha ones? I tried one dg stomp, it was pretty amazing for the price. (it was going on for about 130 for a used one) is dg stomp out of production?

You're taking this way to serious! If the GT-8 does everything you need, what's the problem? Did you shoot yourself when the latest, greatest computer came out and made yours 1 nanomagoogleahertz slower than the latest thing?

nah rgr he means if its coming out soon, he will wait to get it, no point in getting an older version of a product when the new one is around the corner

Yeah, I was just joking a little, heck, wait 'til the GT10 comes out them get an 8 on clearance! I haven't heard anything about a 10 coming out, but I'm sure it will at some point. Depends on how soon youwant something.

Re: Upcoming gt-10??

The GT-8 came out in 2005. The GT-6 came out in 2001. I wouldn't expect a successor to the GT-8 for at least a couple more years. If you want a more powerful BOSS unit, why not get the GT-Pro and a controller?

The DG Stomp was discontinued a couple of years ago, and was replaced with the Magicstomp.

Man...please..DON'T buy a multi fx unit..it's the worse thing you can do..believe me....I have a GT-8....

I bought it and now I just want to get rid of it....It's awfull..with that money you can buy at least 4 GREAT single pedals(one delay..one chorus...one distortion or overdrive etc).....If I could I wouldn't have bought that Boss GT-8.......It was a waste pf time and money....believe me

Re: Upcoming gt-10??

I've the GT-Pro, and I couldn't be happier with it. Dead easy to program with USB, and it has every stomp box boss have made built in. I've done the previous separate stomp boxes route, but it was a pain in the arse. With stomp boxes it took me about 30 mins to wire including time to mike my cab, with the pro, I have 4 wires to connect, and it lines out to the desk. I'm playable in under 5 mins while I have a beer and watch the drummer and bass waste 25 minutes of their lives setting up.

By the way you're talking it looks like the GT-Pro would be more like a MIDI pedalboard to control your stomp boxes....the truth is that the effects on those multi fx units have less quality than the single pedals....Unless you're not a tone freak o course...I want more than that...Single pedals are much better

Yeah...Boss fans will have to wait a little longer for the next GT....
I bought my GT-8 last year when it came out...They will have to wait at least 2 years

Re: Upcoming gt-10??

I still have a GT-6, no need to go for the GT-8 for me really as it's not much different. Sees little use though to be honest.

Re: Upcoming gt-10??

I have a GT-6, and i love it.

With stompboxes, i'd be perpetually doing a tap-dance routine to change sounds, and there are some things i simply could not do without a programmable processor.

I love plugging straight into a nice tube amp, but for the kind of music my band plays (and for the kinds of sounds i hear in my head), a multi-effects processor is the way to go.

Re: Upcoming gt-10??

^that's right it depends on what you want to do musically...if you want strange noises and "surreal" stuff than the GTs are definetly for you, they provide a wide range of effects and combinations that you can use..from simple things to complex effect mixes...

but of you just wanna play metal and rock and that kind of stuff with "normal" tones and you need simplicity than single pedals are the best for you....but in my case i'm a tone freak so I need excellent effects and awesome sound (and the gts have that....but it's not enough for me)

Re: Upcoming gt-10??

Do you run yours in the effects loop darren? The reason I stopped using mine was cos with my vavle amp, i want to fully overdrive it and the delay, chorus ect doesnt work well upfront before overdrive. In the loop it is fine, but then in the loop i cant use the wah, so i just went back to the very very few pedals i ever do use. Wah, very rarely chorus and a bit of delay.
