V-Amp Pro users, can you help me?

OK, today I got a surprise. A Behringer V-Amp Pro was delivered to me, purchased secretly by my girlfriend (it's my birthday! YAY!). Anyway, this will be used solely for playing at home direct into my PC and hifi. I would like to know if anyone has any thoughts on what the best settings to use are. Bear in mind, I'm currently guitar-less while I await my RG 20th, so I won't be able to try this thing out right away, but I thought I'd just spend some time learning as much about it as possible before my new guitar gets here.

I know my setup is nothing special. I don't have a dedicated amp (haven't done since I sold my Marshalls back in '99) and all I've had to use since then is my girlfriend's old Roland combo which is a bit weak and not at all flexible. The V-Amp will be going into a HDA X-Plosion sound card (very nice), then into my hifi amp (Musical Fidelity X-A2 -- phenomenal amp!), then into my B&W DM602 speakers (they do the job nicely).

What I'd like to ask is which outputs should I use? I see a whole bunch of options on the back of the unit; digital, balanced, unbalanced, etc. Also, which speaker simulator / cabinet will work well? If there's anything else I should know, I'd really appreciate some input on this. Of course, I'll be tweaking and experimenting as soon as I can, but getting a head start from users of the V-Amp would be great. Thanks in advance if you can help me out.

EDIT: Oh yeah, is it worth me getting some kind of MIDI interface for controlling the V-Amp from my PC?

Well to answer your last question first I have bought the midisport to control the vamp via midi through my usb port on the computer. Only thing I use it for is to save and edit patches via the vamp pro software made just for that, I haven't had it plugged into the computer in awhile though, but that's just because I haven't recorded in awhile.

also I think I read in the manual that if you are recording straight into the PC that you should turn the speaker cab emulator off, I found that odd and don't do it as the sound with it off is kinda wierd to me, but that could just be I'm use to always having it on.

Thanks. I've heard several people suggest turning the speaker simulator off. I'll try that. Do you have any recordings made with the V-Amp direct to PC?

BTW, how much did you pay for your midisport?

OK, that's reasonable. They have a USB connection, right? I will grab one at some point. Thanks again.
