VHT Deliverance, Speaker Choice?

I just bought a VHT Deliverance 120 (WOOHOO!!)

I was getting really tired of dragging my 412 everywhere so I am also going to get another cab. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what speakers would go well with this amp, and why you think so.

Thanks

Re: VHT Deliverance, Speaker Choice?

those Deliverance's are rad aren't they? I definitely dig the two gain knobs and how it works...
....my buddies got their Sig:X's last week and demo'd it with my Mesa 4x12 with Black Shadows on top and V30's on the bottom... not bad but overtly loud. The V30's seem to "tone down" the amp's potential; i'm sure the Deliverance would react the same way. The Black Shadows were bright and brings out the amp's presence a bit more.
According to their research (as they're workin on getting new cabs with the new amps), their first choice would be getting a 2x12 VHT Fat Bottom Cab. However, they tried out a Port City oversized 2x12 cab and were impressed with how it "opens" up the amp.
Enjoy that Deliverance... should last ya for the next decade!

Re: VHT Deliverance, Speaker Choice?

Well I haven't actual got the VHT yet but i bought it and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I looked at both of those options, but they were both a little more than I was looking at spending... I was thinking of ordering an avatar cab and wasn't sure which speakers to choose, but who knows maybe I can get a hold of a used Fat Bottom, but I also hear great things about the D212 VHT...

or find someone who's selling *just* the VHT Eminence speakers - P50E. Good luck though as it's the main reason why ppl get VHT cabs.
here's something you should do when ya get the amp: turn all knobs to zero and turn up the master.... you'll get a kick out of that lol

Re: VHT Deliverance, Speaker Choice?

Alright I'll try that out, Thanks. In the meantime I will prob go with the avatar cuz I am without a cab and want to order one quick. But I don't know a lot about speakers, it sounded like you wernt too impressed with the V30's.

These are the ones that Avatar offers

Vintage 30s, G12H30s, G12T75s, Greenbacks, Classic Lead 80s, Hellatone 30s, Hellatone 60s and G12K100

... I'd go on and on with speaker details, especially Celestions, but that's a whole other thread I'm sure a few other jemsiter's who own a VHT can chime in...
dunno if these fit your style: http://www.vadercabinets.com

Re: VHT Deliverance, Speaker Choice?

So I got the V30s in an avatar cab. I don't think they are the best match for it. They give it an overly compressed feel. Although the cab/head look badass together! As soon as I have the money I may go for a VHT either a deliverance cab or the fb. But for now I am loving this amp.

Re: VHT Deliverance, Speaker Choice?

Glad to hear you're digging the amp so far...
my buddy's got their empty Port City oversized 2x12 Cabs and loaded them with V30's from a Recto cab and they like it... really "opened" up the amp. I have yet to hear the combo as they got it 'em a couple days ago.

PS: wazzup with the Blair Witch graphics on your wall? :P

I used to be in a rehab and I would bring some kids home to my house. While they were there we painted hand prints and random stuff on my walls for fun haha I dig it.
