Don't know what to tell you to do for random bitches, but I'd just focus on good image quality, and then mic up your amp and overdub your tearing it up over the backing track you're playing to in an audio editor, and then replace the sound on the video with the recorded sound.

Being deliberately obtuse is never a good thing.

Great.

But that isn't what I asked.

Do you want to go with a tape format, hardrive, disc, flash card, etc?

Alot of lower end camcorder, around your price range have done away w/ external mic inputs. Which would be your best bet in your price range. JVC, Cannon, and Sony all make some decent low end consumer items. Just go to their web sites and look. CNET has some good reviews as well. That being said in your price range, your best bet is to do what the others have suggested and overdub audio in an editing program

I got a video camcorder for the same purpose as you.

For the $350 price range, the best option is the Panasonic PVGS320. It's a 3CCD lens, unlike the rest in that price range.

I'll get some clips posted soon.
