Vox Valvetronix Owners!

Hey if you own this amp... Let me know some tones you have created, I just got one yesterday and love it. I got the ADVT120, its LOUD!

So if you have made any good tones, maybe we can share them and what not. Thanks

I like the american high gain amp with the treble booster for articulation and the gain about 12-1 O'clock. I run my treble, mid, and bass around 12:00. I use the 15 watt power amp setting with my master between 1 and 3 O'clock. Try that for a lead tone! for rhythm I just suck some of the mids out and roll the gain back a little.
Let me know what you think.

In case you ever have a problem with your valvetronix...

FYI: After a year of abuse, I had my valvetronix in for repair. The back panel controls/outputs are on a separate board. Somehow, it became unsoldered(If you notice the back jack for the f/b is getting loose, have it checked out). Easy fix, but the repair guy said that mine was the 2nd one he's had to resolder. I'm speculating that it may be caused by improper ventilation. I don't see any vents on the back of the amp. The back panel sits right above the tubes. However, I don't ever remember the back or top being that hot. Maybe, it was just a bad solder job from the factory.

.....after more extensive questioning, the tech that fixed my amp told me that there just wasn't enough solder on the board. When moving the unit while still warm the solder joints likely cracked. He simply fixed this by resoldering with a sufficient amount.

Shane and I took our Valvtronix to Jemfest last year. they sounded great. *I hope* I'd keep buggin Shane to give up his presets. That's what I do anyway.....
