Wah/Volume pedal recommendations

Hi
I'm looking for a wah pedal that is also a volume pedal.
I know of the mister cry baby but are there any others you would recommend?

I currently use a Cry Baby (wah only) and I like it's wah, though a bit shrill at times.
I have a few things I hate with my current wah:
-
* No indication that it's on or not - an LED to tell you it is on or off would be good
* Can get a bit sharp and bright at times

So what I'm after is a great sounding wah, that I can switch into volume pedal mode, that is user friendly.

I intend to run it into a TC Nova System.
Budget not an issue as it is work bought so not actually mine LOL

Re: Wah/Volume pedal recommendations

I use a 535Q 18v for my wah and I have a Roland pedal for volume, pitch control, etc. All CC'd with my Axe Fx Ultra.

A lot of peeps swear by the Ernie Ball Jr's and switch out the pots. I'm happy with my Roland pedal but if you gig regularly it may not be the best solution.

Not sure of any that switch back and forth.

Re: Wah/Volume pedal recommendations

Thanks for that
Yeah I'm up for just getting a dedicated wah, plus a dedicated expression pedal.
My only problem is that I'm thinking maybe I'll want to use the expression pedal for controlling a parameter such as gain, but also want a volume control for the same patch.

I think Boss makes a good expression pedal (FV500) so maybe one of those and a Dunlop Wah or perhaps a Bad Horsie....?

I'd love to try Axe FX too but don't think work will pay up for all the gear I'd need - AxeFX, Footswitch, controllers, Decent Speakers etc.

I bought a Bad Horsie of teh bay yesterday - really like it so far. It has the LED light you need and it's actually a fairly subtle wah compared to others (especially considering it's endorser is anything but).

Really love the switchless operation, it does mean that Money For Nothing impressions are off the menu tho

Big Bad Wah is also well worth a look - huge variety of sounds from traditional wah through to Morley-style big sweeps.

Loads of options to play with - Wah 1 is fixed as a traditional Vox-style, which sounds almost identical to my 20 year-old Crybaby. Wah 2 can be Vox-like or Morley-like, depending on how you set the voice switch. Then you've got a drive control which can really add some kick to the sound.

Can't you do that with one pedal and IA's on your foot controller?

Re: Wah/Volume pedal recommendations

The BBW is a great wah that covers just about any wah tone you could want. I recommend it if cost is no object or if you need a lot of different wah tones from vintage to modern.
On the volume side of things, I'll second the Ernieballs. I haven't switched pots out but they've got solid volume pedals that'll meet your needs.
