They've completely eliminated the remaining bit of fizz that Celestions had. Clarity is great, and there's quite a bit of bottom end, so I had to dial down the bass a bit. Clean tones are outstanding as well. I think I'll spend a week with these before experimenting further.
I've got the CL-80 clones from WGS mixed with Hellatone 60L's and they sound great.

Mixing CL-80's and G12T-75 gets you this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9af7e6Zr14

Too bad I don't have a G12T-75 right now.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

I just put Veteran 30 into my 2x12 Avatar and I like them too. They have brighter highs (no fizz, still!) and tighter low end than British Leads. Awesome speakers.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

Micro, would you say their sampled sounds on their website are a good representation of the speakers in question, now that you have them installed? Curious.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

Obviously this will depend on the amp and the cab they're installed in. I do think they blow the doors off Celestion Vintage 30's with my amps and cab though.

Here's the same tune played through WH British Leads, WH Veteran 30 and Celestion G12T-75 (not recorded by me, but pretty representative of what I hear with my amp).

G12T-75: http://www.web-design100.com/75.mp3
British Lead: http://www.web-design100.com/cl80%27s%20L2.mp3
Veteran 30: http://www.web-design100.com/v30s.mp3

Except Veteran 30 works slightly better with my amp than British Lead. I also think I'll buy their Greenbacks and "G12H30" when I sell off a bunch of other speakers I have.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

Cool stuff, thanks. Trying to decide on the CL80 or the v30s. I have a Laney AOR halfstack with the stock Celestion G12M-70s that is killing me with the upper mids. I'd like to subdue that shrillness, and add a tad more, rounded bottom end. For the price of these, I don't think you can really go wrong.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

They've just released their G12-65 clones at $65 each. Not bad considering that the original is $155 at Avatar Speakers or $180 everywhere else. I bought a pair.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

I bought a pair of Veteran 30's for a custom 2x12 I made. I can't believe how great these things sound! I'm thinking of selling off my celestion's and reloading my 4x12 cab with some more veteran 30's.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

I was searching some videos for a fair comparison to check the veteran 30s...

They have the sound of the V30s but without the spike on the upper mids...

For the price... I'm gonna buy a pair to mix them in my cab...
