Warehouse speakers?

I gotta say, the demo clips on their site are very impressive, and the speakers themselves are $45 each. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

I've got their CL80 clones and they're nice. Pair them up with a V30 and it rocks.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

What kind of speakers are they? for $45 bucks a pop, they can't be much better than a pair of speakers that guys sell out of a van in a parking lot.

Post the link if you get a chance

Re: Warehouse speakers?

That's the thing, people rave about them. I'm gonna buy a pair of CL80. I figure at $90 a pair I can't go wrong.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

They seem to be built a tad heavier duty than my Celestions. They're also assembled in the US rather than China so that right there makes them worth buying.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

I went ahead and bought two CL's and two Veterans. I have a 2x12, so I'll see which ones I like the most and sell the other pair.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

It's a commonly argued subject of whether or not they are better than Celestions. Some think they are better, some think they are equal, but most would agree that the aren't worst. So you could expect them to stand up to Celestions fairly well.

That's where it appears you're wrong. Plenty of people are scooping these up, and digging them, both the CL80s AND the Veteran 30s, especially over at Plexi Palace. Haven't really heard any bitching about these, and am thinking about snatching up a quad of them. Only sorry I didn't get in on them, during the introductory pricing. Still, the current price can't be beat.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

I bought a pair of Veteran 30's for my Carvin Combo. They are awesome and a bargain at $45.00. Rumor is they are Eminence speakers, don't know if that's true.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

I doubt they're Eminence. I have seen many Eminence speakers and there are noticeable differences in construction. In addition, the company is located in the same town as the oldest speaker cone manufacturer in the world (Hawley Products). I don't think this is a coincidence.

I've found Eminence speakers to be either "too hifi" (Governors, for example) or have the "blanket over the cab" response (Legends). They can't seem to hit that elusive middle ground that Celestion Vintage 30's totally nails with my amp.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

Their not Eminence. Only rumors I have heard about them said that they shared some of the same components as the Celestions, but since it is a "rumor", take it at face value.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

The speakers have arrived. Unfortunately it was too late to put them in, but tomorrow I'll give them a try. Two CLs and two Veterans. I'll try each pair separately, CL and Veteran mixed, and CL and Veteran mixed with Celestion Vintage 30's. Well, maybe not all on the same day.

Re: Warehouse speakers?

Put in the British Leads first. Very, very good. I haven't heard the "real" Celestion Lead 80's, but on their own Warehouse British Leads are easily some of the best speakers I've ever heard, better than Celestion Vintage 30 with my amp for sure. They've completely eliminated the remaining bit of fizz that Celestions had. Clarity is great, and there's quite a bit of bottom end, so I had to dial down the bass a bit. Clean tones are outstanding as well. I think I'll spend a week with these before experimenting further.
