Well, I've been waiting for awhile to get my new amp. I've been looking actually very extensively, trying things out,researching and the like. I'd been looking at 2 channel amps for the most part, never really considering a basic one channel amp (I never really thought about using a 2 amp rig with an a/b switch,of course I have a fender tube combo with a pretty good clean channel). But now I'm pretty open to it...so depending on what the used market looks like in a few weeks I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting either a Laney gh50l 212, or a Peavey 5150 212. I'd really like to get a 1/2 stack again but unfortunately standard 412 speaker cabs won't fit too well in my car. It would have to pretty much be a 'deal of a lifetime' on a 412 for me to get it now.

I take it you mean a GH50L and a 2-12 cab? Since there's never been a GH-series combo? The closest would be the VC50(now discontinued), which was the 2 channel VH100R preamp in a combo.

The Laney likes darker speakers, IMO, so if you get a 2-12 get something deep. I have an Avatar vintage 2-12 that I use with mine, loaded with a Emi Swamp Thang and Tonker.

yeah, sorry for the typo. I'm leaning towards a head/212 cab. If there was a 60 watt 5150 head I'd love to have it instead of the combo, as it's pretty heavy.

Yeah, a 60 watt 5150/6505 head would be nice to have on the market.
