Hi everybody! I'm gonna buy a new amp soon, and I think I'm going for the
laney lv300. I tried one (I can't remenber if it was a lv300 or lv300t, any difference in sound?) at my local store and it sounded awesome, and it's not that expensive. But, what do you guys think? Does anybody have a laney lv series amp?? Any opinion??
I need an amp that has a "crunchy" distortion (think of petrucci's tone), and nice cleans. I play metal (Megadeth, Iron Maiden, some death metal 'cause my bandmates like to play that stuff), progressive stuff (Dream Theater), instrumental (satriani,vai) and sometimes blues (stevie ray vaughan). I'm going to use it for practice at home and band rehearsals, so it must be loud enough to be used along with a drum kit.
I think the laney lv300 is my best option. But what do you guys think?? Any advice???
(Note: here in Peru you can only find marshall, laney and vox. I once saw a randall, but they have disappeared :P)
