What amp to buy

Hi guys its my 21st soon and i want an all valve tube amp to celibrate and my parents are giving me some money (don't know how much yet)

I have kind of had my heart set on the Laney GH100L and i love the type of distortions but this amp has no clean, but there is a way round that(e-mail if you want to know), that not a big problem but i was wondering what else was out there, my budget wont reach a mesa boogie because they start at £1200 in the UK and i have about £800 max. I want to try a legacy amp but people say that it hasn't as much gain as many people thought. I play mainly rock stuff and like paul gilbert, yngwie malmsteen, andy timmons, steve vai, greg howe and richie kotzen. Now i do like that creamy distortion like Vai and the raw distortion of paul gilbert, and the nice crunch richie has on his rhythm sounds. I have effects like reverb so thats not so important to have on an amp and i don't mind how many chanels it has, one will do but more would be cool.

I want my dream tone but i need some amp models to go and try out.

Cheers guys

Beavis

Look for something used, you may have better luck...

Just go for a Legacy. Head or 2x12.....that's up to you.

VOX Valvetronix

I know of the tone your looking for, I sold my Legacy to to get the Vox Vavletronix. Although it doesn't have the "wonk" of the Legacy, it's far easier to play lead on. And i'ts still pretty darn loud. 2x12 combo with 60watts per side, with tubes in the power amp section. At least check it out before you buy anything else.

Soldano HotRod 50 or 100.
50watts or 100watts.
Very good clean channel. Super Overdrive! The same overdrive circuit as the SLO100.....for a lot less $$$. The HR50+ and HR100+ is channel switching as well.
Definitely an amp you can plug straight into, turn the preamp up, add a dose of presence, and go "Whoa!".
Useable bass, mid, treb controls as well.....fully dimed or turned back.
Dimed is a bit of a misnomer......all controls go to 11. "This one goes to 11!"
