What Bass Guitar do you own/play?
I know many of the jemsiters here also play a bit of bass, so I'm just curious of what bass guitar everyone use...
I have only one - a 88 Ibanez Roadbass with active pickups.

Re: What Bass Guitar do you own/play?
I have a Peavey Cirrus 5-string, which I bought 6 years ago when I was a gigging bassist. It's pretty sweet... although probably too sweet for the small amount I play it these days... I've been thinking about selling it so I could get a Variax bass just for recording.

Ibanez SR800. Best feel in a bass I ever experienced.
Also a Yamaha RBX270 for the wife.

Re: What Bass Guitar do you own/play?
Forgot to add one more... used to own for few years a strange bass made by Westone - it's call the rail. It's a headless bass (similar to Steinberger) and the body is rectangular shape. There are two tubular "rails" in the middle of the body where the pickup can slide back and forth, so you can set the pickup anywhere between the neck and
bridge position
. It's pretty wild

Re: What Bass Guitar do you own/play?
Ibanez Ergodyne EDA-905 five string. Grabbed it from AMS when they were clearing them out @ $450 - it's a pretty cool bass. Sounds fairly good (but I know better than to expect an Ibanez to sound great with stock pickups), plays well, and the body, bizarre as it looks, is phenominally comfortable. It's also almost unnaturally resonant. Fit and finish doesn't strike me as an $800 bass (it's original market price), but at $450, it's a steal, plays like it's a few hundred more than that.
I'm thinking of swapping the Piezo active EQ for a master passive tone knob and having it wired so the master bass Boost/Cut knob works on both setups, as I miss having a true "tone" knob, but aside from that it's a pretty sweet bass.
(oh, and I'm SUCH a hack bassist, but I'm learning
)

I too have an Ibanez SR800 but it is modified a bit.
Stripped down to bare wood and oiled, semi fretless.
The frets taper off around the 5th fret on the low side and are gone on the high side. Kind of like a vertical shark tooth. I'll post pics some time.

Re: What Bass Guitar do you own/play?
i have an old squier p-bass converted to a fretless. It's actually not that bad for a bass that my buddy just gave to me. Gets a nice stand up tone and helps me learn jazz bass lines and strengthen my hands
