What is the point of these pedals, what do they do.

Sustain
Reverb
Delay
EQ
and all the other pedals out their

I'd say you're lazy....you won't make your own account here and you won't look up on the 'net what different effect pedals do. Based upon that, I'm surprised you were able to put forth the effort required to type your post.

There have been books written regarding the question you're asking but the folks here are teaching you to fish (use a search engine) so you can feed yourself (gain knowledge) for a lifetime.

I'd say the friend's account should be disabled until he sends an email to the site admin and the other "friend" creates his own account.

actually, he created one this morning. and he was over here using my computer, and didnt want to make me look stupid, so he said it was his friends (mine, alex's) account...whats wrong with letting him ask a question...and i didnt know how stupid the question was until i read these responses

I don't think the issue was about the validity of his question, it was more about the fact that he admitted he was lazy to create his own account but still wanted to ask a question. Had he said something along the lines of "guys, I'm in the process of creating an account but..", it would've been a bit different.

Newbies are welcome, but they need to respect the time and efforts of others.

When someone says they are too lazy to spend 2 minutes on account creation, and then follow it up with an open ended question like the one posted that may have taken 30 seconds to type out and then expect the membership here to type out detailed responses?

Not quite the quid pro quo most guys around here are going to respect, or even respond to at all.
