what do you guys think of the Mesa .50+ caliber head


anyone have any experience with this?what it excels, or sucks at etc. might be picking one up sometime soon.

I haven't played that particular model, but I'm familiar with the Caliber, the DC and the F series, which is sort of the evolution of that line...

Great amps. They fall somewhere between a Mark-style gain but with a little more crunch, though not nearly into Recto territory (though, for some people, that's a good thing).

Does this one have a graphic EQ? I don't remember... If so, you can cover a LOT of ground with it.

IIRC, Meshuggah used them for a while when they were playing 7 strings, and I think Fredrick Thorendal's Special Defects "Sol Niger Within" was either a Caliber 50 or a DC-5...
