What do you think of the Soldano SP-77 pre-amp? - (the ameri

I have a chance to buy one relatively cheap (the american version, i've heard that the Japonese ones are crap). I've heard nothing about these pre-amps besides the reviews in the HC (and i doubt that reviews a lot...). They say that it's basically a SLO-100 head in a pre-amp rack format. Is this true? Is this pre-amp as great as the X88 or the X99? Does it sounds good, both clean and distorted? Does it deserves the name Soldano?

This is a good, cheap, no option preamp. *It is Soldano entry level preamp. *I had one about 5years ago. *It has two channels, a bright switch and that is about all. *You can get one for $200-$350 used regulary. *It is no where near the quality of Soldanos high end...and it shouldn't be. *Those have more channels, options and better components. *It is still a great basic preamp.
