Re: What is your dream rig?

I have my dream rig, just need to integrate the ground control pro and expression pedals.
2 randall rm100 heads with various modules.
Digitech gsp1101
Tc gmajor
vht and marshall cabs
x wire wireless
ground control pro
2 ebmm volume pedals
furman power factor
bad horsie 2
6 space rack with rack drawer
Moving dolley with big wheels-an essential gigging tool, especially when it snows.
The only thing I might add is a rackmount dunlop wah modified for switchless.

I have a hughes & kettner 20watt anniversary 1x12 combo and 2-2x12 carvin legacy cabs for smaller jams.
I've been using the randall heads for over a year and am happy to say I desire nothing else, except more modules.

Re: What is your dream rig?

If we're talking dreams here....

2 x ENGL Ritchie Blackmore heads

8 x Custom build 4x12's consisting of Mahogany shells loaded with Celestion vintage 30's.

Obviously only one of the heads and a 4x12 would be in use at any one time (the rest would just look cool behind me).

On the floor....

Boss NS-2 Noise Filter
TS9 or 808
Digitech Delay
JD Zakk Wah

Oh, and a talk box (I'd only use it for 30secs of a two hour gig but again it's the cool to have factor).

After that just hand me as many Les Pauls as you can, with my trusty Jem on stand by for any 80's moments.

Preferably Swedish, beautiful and open to suggestion

As important as it is that the rig sounds right it's also got to have that cool block of 8 look behind to truly be my dream rig.

The fact that nobody uses all 8 at once and only 1 of the 12inch speakers is actualty mic'd doesn't matter to me. If it's a dream rig then it's gotta be rock n' roll

Re: What is your dream rig?

I'm currently building my ultimate gigging rig. I currently have a VHT Deliverance 60 and a Mesa Lonestar head (100/50w) and have a Maxline case on order that'll allow me to have both heads and a 4 space rack in 1 shockmounted case. It'll be heavy, but it'll be secure and easy to setup.

Currently I'm just playing the lonestar with a couple of pedals, but I want to incorporate the VHT into the setup as my "crunch" channel, plus with a TS in front it does incredible lead sounds.

Right now to play both I'm running a Radial AB box, but once I get my switching setup (Voodoo GCX) I'll be using the AB box for a tuner out so my tuner isn't in the chain. I actually drew out what my signal path is going to look like in AutoCAD last night. The beauty of this sort of setup is that I can take all effects out of the loop at will and run totally dry, or I can use any combination of amp/effects via MIDI.

I'd like to upsize the power section to a 50/50 or 2:90 and I'm in the process of acquiring a G system (selling off and saving stage)

I think maybe updating my cabs with some nice Mesa or Bag End cabs.
I wouldn't complain about having some other combo amps for flavor, like a Roland JC-120 or the usual Fender Twin Reverb and a couple ZVEX toys for fun.

I'm mostly good with my axes, and my main guitar issue is upgrading old gear to newer goodies in some cases. I'd love to grab one of each new RG puzzles, an RGA model and either a parts made Strat from Warmoth or find a nice Ash or Koa bodied job with upgraded hardware and Lace sensors and scalloped fretboard. I'm hooked on scallops, that's all I play any more.

Looking back, the 2:90 wish came true, world of difference!
Still yearning for the puzzle guitars, but haven't pounced on one.
The only change I'd make is I'd like to nab the G Force, the G Major is cool, but the G Force has a few more bells and whistles. That aside, I think I'd like a smoother more durable midi controller rig. I'm looking around for one now.

Re: What is your dream rig?

I like my setups now:

Bad Cat Hot Cat > Effects (Wah, OD, others but not set in yet seems amp is new still working on it) > Guitar

Mesa Nomad 100 Head w/ 2X12 Matching Cab (v30s, closed back) > Effects > Guitar

I'm really digging the Bad Cat now though, the most monsterious/amazing combo I ever played (I have played quite a few, and for 15 watts wow).
