What is your favorite multi-FX processor? - what do you like

I'm just curious to see what multiple effects processors people like as there are quite a few out there now. I'll post which ones I like after there's a few responses.

For amp sim I like my Yamaha DG Stomp, but it's not much of a multi-effect - the FX are pretty basic.

I like the Boss VF1 and Lexicon MPX500. *I also like my old Boss SX-700 - a very underrated box, IMO.

I'm into the Ensoniq DP/4 units. *They have great reverbs, *delays, *chorusing, *compressor, *EQ, *wah, *amp sims, *speaker sims, *pitch shifting, *etc. *they have great MIDI capabilities.

I use them both in the loops of my two amps, *and up front for effects. *

They are great units, *and a great buy used - 350.00-400.00 gets you a DP/4. *They are very available on Ebay currently.

I like the TC G-Force. I like the reverbs. The Roland multieffects units are very good too - fat chorus, flange, delays and reverbs. Decent amp sims too. I even liked the effects in my old Digitech 2112. All effects were OK. I really like the interface and the EQ. Didn't like the preamp.

If I ever get my sh!t together, I'm sure it will be my new Eventide 3000D/SX, hehe, but for now, it's my Quadraverb GT

DOD MeatBox

Did they ever get the distortions improved on the GTR4000? *I remember lots of people complaining about it.

Obviously, the Eventide's are one of the best effects processors...HANDS DOWN! *But since I'm in the market for a processor, I got a question. *I've heard the distortions aren't that great for heavy music. *Any thoughts? *Would it be suitable for use as an "all in one" preamp or just for strictly effects?

What is your favorite multi-FX processor?

I like my GT-5 (Boss)... Not as swanky/feature loaded as some of the stuff mentioned here , but it does the job, is robust and has pretty much all the stuff I need in it, and can be used as a midi footcontroller for my rack gear.

So that's why it's my favorite.

As a side note, I have never really found an effects processor with a distortion I really liked (apart from that red korg thing, which had some cool stuff in it, as I remember, but it's been years since I heard it), so I always end up using something else to get my distortion... But maybe I've just never tried the right one...
