What Kind of guitar does the guy from Staind play?
As i've already said, the guitar
Mike Mushok
is
most often pictured with
in Ibanez ads and catalogs is obviously a custom variant of the S-Classic.
However, the new customs he's seen with on stage and in videos are *
definitely NOT S-Classics
, other than perhaps the
headstock shape
.
Chances are, the reason Ibanez likely continues to say he plays an S-Classic is so Staind's popularity can sell more guitars Ibanez
actually makes
, rather than Mike Mushok fans having to pine for a guitar they cannot get.

What Kind of guitar does the guy from Staind play?
Well, after looking at the pictures Darren has posted, i've come to a bit of a conclusion...if we're going to say it's beteen a Radius and a JS body, i have to say it's a Radius. Reason being is that it doesn't have an angled input jack, plus it doesn't have a toggle-type pickup selector.I really hope Ibanez will produce this guitar... * * * * * * * * *#~*ben*~#

I double that...it looks like a JS or Radius body. *Remember the JS6000? *All
mahogany body
.
That's what it looks like but with a different headstock.
It would be interesting indeed.

You guys are right, I shouldn't make such a point blank statement about the guitarist. The lead SINGER is the one who sux, good lord, could you whine a little more?!?!? I am SOOOO sick of that band getting airplay for CRAP songs, the singer sitting there playing power chords doing a "ballad" about how pathetic he is... Ughhh someone put them out of my misery...
Stain'd should go away...

* Seeing Staind live twice so far I've come to 2 conclusions, 1 being that a Baritone neck makes a world of difference, and 2, no matter what anyone says, you can make a Marshall sound just as heavy as a Mesa when you use it right.
* He played an Ibanez Artist which had a 24.75 scaled neck, tuned down to A, and it sounded like ASS. Well didn't sound like ass but...didn't sound so good compared to when he brought out his
Custom models
which were tuned down to G#! They sounded hell of a lot tighter and cut through the mix wonderfully. His sound is all Marshall and each time I saw them his tone was absolutely massive. Blew away the opening bands Triple Rectifers as far as Im concerned. It's all in the hands.

Radius shape, defenetely.
Also because the S-Classic has squared edges, not rounded, and it's way thinner than a Radius.
I'm talking bout the grey/black one, too.

I would have to agree with jupiter. His melodies are quite interesting and very mood-creative compared to the rest of the baritone/A-tuned 7 stringed boys out there right now!

* its kind of funny watching bamm and vampire talk useless trash while the rest of us ignore them
.
But thats not the point, i think that Mike's guitar is awesome but i couldn't really find any place that told me anything about it, i knew he changed guitars when i saw those soap-bar picks turn into humbuckers. but id buy that guitar the day it came out. its awesome.

Not the JS10
Oh and to me (moot point now but hey) it looks like a Radius/JS body with the switch/controls in the same place as the old 92/93 HSH JS guitars.
