Re: what kinds of pedals do you use in your setup
I have a Lexicon MPX-1 in the FX loop, so I don't really use many pedals. I do have a Digitech EX-7 Expression and an MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion in there, though.

Re: what kinds of pedals do you use in your setup
Seems like overkill for not being a gigging musician, but here's my setup:
Front of amp:
-Korg Pitchblack
-Morley Bad Horsie 2 wah
-Ibanez TS9
FX Loop:
-Boss CH-1 (chorus)
-Joyo Analog Delay
-Artec EQ
-ISP Decimator
I'll play just about anything from AC/DC to ZZ Top. Nothing heavier than thrash metal(i.e. Metallica, Megadeth, etc.) though. I like to keep a versatile setup.

No pedals at all-
I'm a rack guy, even my Wah Wah.
Most pedals make too much noise and have no way to change the
effects
without turning the knobs.

in the past I have been using the Dyna but now I might just used the amp boost. My tone is somewhere between Page and EVH so I'm not really doing anything to make my lead tone much different from my rhythm, which is why now I'm leaning towards just using my boost. Sometimes I will step on the Shaker, which, when used subtly, is like a chorus. I wouldn't mind trying out a Tube Screamer though in my set up. Ultimately I try to get a similar tone to Justin Hawkins from the Darkness : )

Effects run with a Mark V: Maxon CP9 Pro+ / Maxon OD808 / iSP Decimator G-String / Boss PH-3 / TC Corona / Boss TU-3 / Axe-Fx.
Then there's a simpler rig with this pedalboard in front of a clean amp:

Kinda wished I'd saved up for this one instead of getting just the Decimator. I hate having to turn it off when I switch to the clean channel.

Carvin Legacy 1 VL212 combo with Boss ME-70 and Morley Bad Horsie 2 thru front input, clean channel only. No amp modeling with the Boss unit, only using the EQ section with OD1 distorsion, chorus, and delay. Anyone that says the Legacy is only for Vai tones is dead wrong. I have MY tone dialed in perfectly and couldn't be happier. Get many complements on how great it sounds.

Soldano SLO100 with a TC GMAJOR 2 in the loop.
Guitar
goes into
1) Boss TU-3 tuner
2) Morley Bad Horsie II wah
3) Boss SD-1 overdrive
4) Boss NS-2 noise suppressor
.........then straight to the SLO input
