What should i get...distortion?

Hi - i'm looking to get something to put in front of my tech 21 tm10; namely some ttype of distortion with the tm 10 being one channel and all. I am deciding b/t the following:
Boss GP-20, Marshall jackhammer, Zoom Tri-metal, and ibanez smashbox. Oh, looking for old school metallica sounds.
Any suggestions/comments will be greatly appreciated,

I've discovered a Boss GE-7 Equalizer can do interesting things with your onboard distortion. It's just a simple stompbox, but it turns my 5150II into a devlish machine
