The only thing that makes you play faster are practice and Coke (stephen hawkings books not included)

GHS fast fret is a lubricant/string cleaner.
It doesn't make you play faster, but it might make your strings last longer.

Salem is correct. It just makes the strings a bit more slick. Basically, it's an impulse item marketed (I'm referring to word-of-mouth mostly) to players who have the desire to run before they can walk.

Fast Fret and its use

Hey man,
I have used Fast Fret for a few years now! It's great stuff. Basically a lubricant on a felt stick applicator. I run it on the strings after i play and then use a thin cloth to clean underneath and around the string. (on the underside of the string) This has made my strings last about 3-4 times as long. I used to HAVE to change strings every other week or sooner depending on play. Now i need a chance maybe once a month or so. I usually change again before a gig, or an event anyways though. It's good stuff. I know some bassists that swear by it as well. I also put it on before i start playing. It makes the strings slick. Basically it eliminates some of the friction against your fingers, so in essence...you can go faster. I find it just restricts my fingers less. I like the feel better than a dry fingerboard.

It sounds interesting, but, well, a story.

A guy i know kept destroying the peizo bridges on his parker- i forgot exactly what happened, but they were just deteriorating. After three of four replacements (the first he paid for, the next few he just complained until his guitar store and parker covered it), he got pretty sick of this, and was about to swear off parkers altogether, until he mentioned in an e-mail that he used Fast Fret. They responded, "oh, there's your problem. It eats away at the adhesive in the peizos." or soemthign to that effect.

Being a 2027 player, i'm a bit scared to try... Exotic shredding, i know you play one. Have you been doignt his a while (i.e- more than, say a year, on the 2027), and have you had any problems? It could be something particular to the parker peizo design...

lemon oil and piezo stuff

Hey man,
Lemon oil is great. I use it on my fretboard about once every 2 -3 months. The fast fret is a string cleaner.

I have been using fast fret on my 2027 from the day i got it. I bought it in June of 2000 i believe...somewhere there cause i joined the band im currently with right afterwards and it was my main axe up until this past august when my custom 7 arrived and i havent played a normal guitar since. I have never had a problem with Fast Fret. Actually, i dont think you have to worry about your 2027, the piezo is encased inside the floyd rose. That's why you can palm the bridge and whack it, etc... and its perfectly quiet. So you dont have to worry. The parker story amazes me. What kind of bridge was it?? Parker spanish fly w/ piezo??? Why would the fast fret be on the bridge?? I doubt the fast fret could do that much harm from the tiny amounts that might somehow rub off on your picking hand and then touch the bridge from there? I usually just run the fast fret to about right over my neck pickup.

In my oppinion the swear is "eating" the piezo in this parker guitar.

Like some Lo Pro that you can see wear and pit.

It's common because some mineral component in swear (i don't think the exact word in english) are corrosive and can waste metal parts like some cheap swatches that wear.
