Hey again, this is like the second post in 10 minutes. But while I'm up and running, i better ask this too!
A while ago i got this somewhat crazy idea (which is nothing compared to some other things i read here, but anyway..), that i'd strip the finish off of my 1570 and.. uh.. what's the word in english.. okay, "color" the wood to a darker red color. like an oil finish.
But some friend of mine said that on some of the
Ibanez models (like the RGs with completely smooth surfaces) they actually fill the misshapings in the wood, just so they get a clean surface. Which would mean that if I strip the guitar, it would look horrible! (I actually want it to look a bit horrible, like it's been really abused and broken down. I like that, and after all it's not a very nice finish anyway (purple with sparks in it...)
Now tell me, what's underneath the hood? Tell me my buddy is wrong and there's just clean wood there and not any stupid filling!
And BTW, just so you know i would never do that to a JEM (at least not the first year

), It's way too expensive! (And all of 'em has killer finishes)
Regards
