What's the best order to place the effects?

In which order would you place the following: Yamaha DG Stomp pre-amp (has mod effects and delay built-in), Tubescreamer and a wah?

I'd say wah-Tubescreamer-DG Maybe even put the DG-stomp in your effects loop if you have one.

A pre-amp doesn't belong in an effects loop.

But other than that, i agree with TwoHands... Wah -> TubeScreamer -> DG Stomp.

If you're running into a guitar amp, make sure you've got speaker simulation turned off, and try to run directly into the power amp if possible by plugging into the effects return if your amp has an effects loop.

Agreed for the most part. Play with the wah placement though. It's generally preferred by most when used in front of the amp or first in the chain after the guitar BUT some EQ settings on the amp and other equipment may effect where in the signal chain the wah will sound best when used. Wah is very much an accenting effect and it's not something you want lost in the mix.

If you are blending the DG Stomp with the distortions on your amp, you may not like the result of the DG's effects when this is place in front of the amp's input. So, running your amp clean and getting the grit from the DG stomp would be best. If you like blending the two, use other units in the amp's FX loop in stead of what's on the DG.
