What's your favorite Delay for Live and Recording? Pedals especially?
Hey guys. What's your favorite
delay
pedals
for live and or recording on a budget? Pedals espeically, but if you find that a rack is better, or ? please include it. Just wondering what you have to have in a delay and what's really worked for you?

I'm in the negative.. LOL. No, I just don't want to spend hundreds, but would rather stay under 200 bucks.. ?

I really like my Digitech Hardwire DL-8. It sounds great, built like a tank, and has a built in 20 sec looper.

The Line6 DL4 is a staple, though I'm really curious to check out the new TX Electronics Flashback x4.

If you want versatility, hard wearing and well priced you cannot go past the Digitech Hardwire DL-8 Delay/Looper. Fantastic pedal with great digital, analogue and more delays, plus the looper.
If you just want analogue delay the Malekko Ekko 616 Analog Delay is brilliant.
Both go for reasonable prices used.

Axl Rose has great delay! It takes him hours to show up on stage, and how long were we waiting for Chinese Democracy??
In all seriousness. There are a lot of good delays out there. Personally, I would want to look for one with analog character (or a hi-cut if it's digital). Modulation is handy as well, and stereo does not hurt (if you use it in recording).
You may want to just get one with live playing in mind though. You can get good free delay plugins that have many features for recording.
I have a friend that has a TC-electronics delay pedal, it has got to be one of (if not the) best I have heard. It has modulation and stuff, but it's about the size of the wampler pedal in the post above.

Re: What's your favorite Delay for Live and Recording? Pedals especially?
Thanks Everyone. I really appreciate it. I'm going to have to try a few of these and see what I think. I've used delays that I loved, and then forgot whIat they were. I think the Boss that I used a long time ago was cool, but I also tried one that was on an amp and I hated it.. hehe.. Go figure..

I like my Joyo Analog Delay. I only have my Digitech RP300 to compare it to, and while the RP300 does the job for the most part, I like the organic nature of the Joyo. Plus the Joyo has true bypass.
