No. That' would qualify as "Preamp - Rackmount Effects - Poweramp".

The POD Pro is a preamp (as is the POD).

I put I play POD, cuz I run straight to a Flextone II, so I figure it's the same thing.

I was going to vote for "just the amp" but I use like 1-2 pedals now and then...

What's your ideal rig setup?


I play mostly metal or Vai/Satriani/Malmsteen - ish stuff so my tones are pretty basic. *Using only pedals and and a combo/head, I can get all the tones I need. *I have played with a POD before, and I was surprised by the quality of the sound, but it is no match for the raw sound of a guitar going through pedals into an amp.

I play straight through the amp most of the time because I like my tone dry. *But I might throw in a delay and wah pedal in there sometimes.

This question is a little hard for me to answer. See live I use a rack for everything, for versitility. But I hate it for recording. As far as recording it is nothing but straight through a head for me. *I think nothing sound as good as a simple head.
