I was recording Live N' Let die yesterday night. In the "heavy part" with the asonant notes I was not happy with the rithm guitar. It did not sound so fat and rich as I wanted until I plugged the Les Paul. WOOOOW. Now all room is full when you arrive to this part.

Question

Re: I need help with my signal chain!!!

So here are my pedals and a summary of what I want to do - I have a dual amp setup

Amps:
Mesa Tremoverb
JC-120

Pedals:
Compressor/Sustain
X2 EQ
Wah
Digitech Whammy
Whirlwind A/B Selector
X2 Distortion
Phaser
Delay
Flanger
pitch shifter
tape reverb

This is how I want to run it exactly if I can!

Amp 1: MESA
<comp/sust.-eq-wah-eq-whammy-a/b-phaser-delay-flanger-pitch shifter-tape reverb-mesa tremoverb>

and

Amp 2: JC-120
<comp/sust.-eq-wah-eq-whammy-a/b-distortion-distortion-JC-120/W FX LOOP SEND TO PHASER-DELAY-FLANGER-PITCH SHIFTER-TAPE REVERB-FX LOOP RETURN.

Basically what I want to do is run (ALL OF THESE PEDALS minus the 2 distortions) to the Mesa Boogie , but I also want to send an fx loop from the Roland JC-120 through the last 5 pedals starting with the phaser to the delay, flanger, pitch shifter, and tape delay.....

I would do them all before the a/b out in front of the amp, but for some reason on the Jazz Chorus these pedals boost the hell out of the signal noise......

If there is anyway to do this could you give me a detailed summary of it? I guess it is pretty easy if it can be done, I am just over-looking it maybe......

I don't know if I could add some other pedal, or whatever to get it done I will.........

Thanks much,

Joseph Cramer

Re: WHAT'S YOUR SIGNAL-CHAIN LOOK LIKE?

I had to sell my sexy Cornford MK based rig earlier in the year to fund my wedding, so now it's very simple -

Suhr Pro M2/G&L ASAT/Les Paul >>>> Bad Horsie >>>> TS808 >>>> Vox VT30

for 'Live' stuff.

Suhr Pro M2/G&L ASAT/Les Paul >>>> Bad Horsie >>>> M Box >>>> Pro Tools 8 LE (Guitar Rig 4 as effect)

for recording.

Re: WHAT'S YOUR SIGNAL-CHAIN LOOK LIKE?

Pretty simple really
7String or 6string >Line6 M13 (In amps effects loop)>(Wylde Wah and Ns-2 in effects loop of M13)>Half Stack....
Basically its guitar to amp with M13 in effects loop and wah and ns-2 in m13 fx loop.........
It souns nice.........

Guitar-->Dunlop Rack mount crybaby--> Triaxis front end input--> Triaxis stereo outs to Mesa 2/90 power amp to split 4x12 cab. Triaxis Loop send to TC Electronic G-Major one channel out to MXR Digital Time Delay to left return, and right side of Gmaj out to Triaxis right fx return. My MXR is still one of my fave delay units.

This:

One change only: the Behringer Virtualizer is on a separate reverb loop now, used for reverbs exclusively.

Re: WHAT'S YOUR SIGNAL-CHAIN LOOK LIKE?

stage = guitar > cry baby from hell > nady > korg tuner > triaxis > g major > mesa 2.90 > 2 marshall 1960B stereo or mono (depends on the size of the stage)

recording & rehearsalling = guitar > cry baby from hell > rocktron voodu valve > computer or p.a.

Re: WHAT'S YOUR SIGNAL-CHAIN LOOK LIKE?

Rack version :
Guitar > Korg Rack Tuner > Digitech 2120VGS > Marshall 8008 > Marshall 1922

Pedalboard version :

Guitar > Korg Floor Tuner > Boss NS-2 In

NS-2 Send > EHX Soul Preacher > MXR KFK Q-Zone > Vox Big Bad Wah > Whammy IV > Marshall Guv'nor > MXR Wylde OD > Vox Satchurator > Line 6 Uber Metal > NS-2 Return

NS-2 Out > George Dennis Volume Pedal > Amp input

Amp FX Send > EHX Micro POG > Boss CH-1 > Modtone Analog Delay > Vox Time Machine > Boss GE-7 > Boss RV-5 > Amp FX Return

The pedalboard either needs some serious thinning out, or one of those GigRig things...
