Which 2x12 cabinet for a Peavey JSX
Hei,
could choose between the Legacy caninet, the
Mesa Rectifier
or the MARSHALL 1922 cabinet.
Any suggestions? Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: Which 2x12 cabinet for a Peavey JSX
I use mine with a 2 x 12 Cornford cab loaded with v30's
I highly recommend this cab, it sounds great with the JSX. Btw, I have a 4 x 12 XXX cab and an Engl 4 x 12. The JSX sounds best through the Cornford

IMO, the JSX sounds really nice through speakers that aren't super bright. I like the CL80's.

I run my JSX thru a Legacy 4X12 cab with V30's.
Sounds great!

Any cab will do. Avatar is cheap and will customize speaker configuration to your taste. They're all just wooden boxes with speakers in them. There's no good reason to overpay for the logo.

I would definately not say that..speakers matter a lot, and closed or sealed back can also make a difference. But i agree about the logo part

Speakers are all Celestions, that goes without saying.

Some are actually designed/engineered alot differently than others. Look into the
Genz Benz
G-Flex. It has a completely different cab than any other design I've seen.
The Carvin Legacy 2x12 seems like a good value with the V30's for $399 as opposed to the Mesa version for $559. I'm leaning towards a G-Flex at the moment.

I have a Legacy 2x12. I'll tell ya why. It's relatievly light wieght, it has v30's, and it kicks freakin butt. Its the same width as the
JSX head
, so they mate together nicely. But everything is subjective. I think you can find these for @ $200/$250.

I prefer the Marshall 1936 over the 1922. The Avatar Vintage 2x12 is nice as well.

I imagine the JSX and Legacy 2x12 must get along well considering the artists get along so well in person (just being goofy)

I wish Peavey would just make a JSX 2x12 cab.

They will happily make you a JSX 2x12 (if they make any 2x12 cabs anymore). I had Peavey customize the Wiggy 2x12 cab with the same covering as the 5150, same grill as the XXX and a mud flap girl emblem. They have an upcharge to do it but they WILL do it. I put vintage Carvin spkrs in it that are very close to V30's (maybe why Carvin stopped making them
Please excuse the MT-2
- I just got the Mesa head and was trying out ALL of the pedals I own to see how they worked with it
